Some architects find themselves becoming friends with the clients they work for, which can result in all manner of unusual perks.
Jeff Dungan has a keychain full of keys to multimillion-dollar, custom-designed vacation homes on Florida’s northeastern coast. They include an all-white, three-bedroom mansion, a 5,000-square-foot shingled Nantucket-style home and a condo in a private residence club with a swimming pool on the roof.
Mr. Dungan isn’t a billionaire: He’s an architect. The homes belong to his clients, who became friends during the design and construction process. Read more
